Hydrangeas & Other Picky Flowers
-
Hydrangeas are very thirsty. They must remain constantly hydrated. They drink through their petals and stems, so feel free to over-water or even submerge their whole head in cool water for 30-60 minutes when they begin wilting. Always cut their stems at angle.
-
Tulips bend toward light, so keep them away from direct light. Their stems also bend very easily, so try to use a tall vase to keep them upright.
-
Peonies are very sensitive to heat. Keep them in cool temperatures to slow down their blooming process. Avoiding warm environments keeps them alive longer.
-
Carnations, ranunculus and other delicate flowers - be very gentle with handling. Their stems are very delicate and are prone to snapping.
